This is a national celebration in which CUR showcases what other campuses are doing to celebrate undergraduate research, congratulate students, and thank those faculty and mentors who have helped guide the way.​

An International Discussion on Undergraduate Research – Online Gathering

This online gathering hosted by CUR's At-Large division will bring together colleagues from the USA, Canada, and beyond the pond for an international discussion of undergraduate research. Following presentations from an international panel, discussions in breakout rooms will focus on individual aspects of undergraduate research, and then open forum conversation for knowledge exchange and to answer questions.

Students as Collaborators: An MCS Division Webinar

This webinar is hosted by the Mathematical, Statistical, and Computing Sciences Division of CUR but is open to the entire undergraduate research community.
In this talk, Dominic Klyve will share some of his experiences with student research, with a focus on what the students bring to the work.
Dominic Klyve is a Professor of Mathematics at Central Washington University and a 2022 MCS Faculty Mentor awardee.

Social Sciences Undergraduate Conference Awards Deadline

The Social Sciences Division of CUR is offering a limited number of grants, up to $200 each, for undergraduate students presenting the results of research that they have conducted at a regional or national, discipline-specific meeting (in person or virtually) during the academic year 2023-2024. In addition, two awards will be set aside for students attending an international conference.

Geosciences Early Career Undergraduate Mentor Award Deadline

The Geoscience Division of the Council of Undergraduate Research (GeoCUR) recognizes the critical work of developing best practices in undergraduate research. This award highlights individuals who place undergraduate research at the center of professional activities. GeoCUR annually recognizes individuals who are initiating creative, impactful, and/or innovative undergraduate research activities. Awardees win a prize of $600.

Geosciences Faculty Mentor Award Deadline

The Geosciences Division of CUR annually recognizes an individual who serves as a role model for productive and transformative student-faculty mentoring relationships and for maintaining a sustained and innovative approach to the enterprise of undergraduate research. The awardee wins a prize of $600.
 
Evidence of transformative student-faculty mentoring relationships include: leadership in fostering and sustaining the undergraduate research enterprise, student-mentor collaborations culminating in presentations at national or regional meetings and/or publication with student co-authors in peer-reviewed journals, and innovative approaches to involving undergraduates in research experiences incorporating research activities into the classroom and service learning.
