Community Hour: An Online Gathering for CUR Members hosted by the CUR DEI Committee

Feeling disconnected? The DEI Committee invites all CUR members to build community together. In this informal virtual meeting, participants will learn about ways to stay connected with CUR throughout the year, and members of the DEI Committee will host smaller “connection rooms” to meet colleagues and explore collaborative opportunities.

Social Sciences Undergraduate Conference Awards Fall 2024 Deadline

The Social Sciences Division of CUR is offering a limited number of grants, up to $400 each, for undergraduate students presenting the results of research that they have conducted at a national or international, discipline-specific meeting (in person or virtually) during the academic year 2024-2025. This award will also reopen and be awarded in the Spring.

SPUR Call for Proposals Deadline: Mentorship Best Practices in URSCI

For this theme issue of SPUR, articles of 2,000–3,500 words and communications of 1,500 words are sought that examine mentorship within undergraduate research, scholarship, and creative inquiry. We are keen for undergraduate research professionals from across the globe to share their perspectives, insights, and best practices on mentorship across diverse academic settings. 

ConnectUR 2025 Submission Window Opens

The annual ConnectUR conference will provide a forum around undergraduate research where attendees can draw on knowledge exchange, scholarship of teaching and learning, group discussion, tangible and scalable practices, and community building to expand their efforts.

STR 2024-25 Session 1: Getting Inspired, Setting Goals

The STR Program is a valuable resource for teaching your undergraduate research students communication tools for translating research into understandable language while also communicating the impact, potential impact, and opportunities this research can have. Participants will serve as CUR Advocacy Ambassadors and learn how to advocate for the impact of research with media contacts, community members, funding agencies, and governmental representatives.

CUR-Goldwater Scholars Faculty Mentor Award 2024 Deadline

CUR has partnered with the Barry Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Foundation Program (Goldwater Program) to recognize faculty mentors who conduct their research in a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) discipline, as defined by the Goldwater Program, and who have mentored a minimum of three Goldwater Scholars during their career.
