Chemistry Outstanding Mentorship Awards 2025 Deadline

CUR’s Chemistry Division seeks to honor exceptional mentoring and advising by higher education faculty across all subdisciplines of chemistry with Outstanding Mentorship Awards. These awards recognize transformative mentoring and advising of undergraduate students in mentor-led chemistry research projects. Each award will consist of a plaque, a small cash award, and a letter of commendation from CUR that shall be sent to the recipient’s institution. In each award cycle, one award will be given.

SPUR Call for Proposals: Responsible and Ethical Conduct of Undergraduate Research

For this theme issue of SPUR, articles of 2,000–3,500 words and communications of 1,500 words are sought that examine responsible and ethical conduct of research within undergraduate research, scholarship, and creative inquiry. We are keen for undergraduate research professionals from across the globe to share their perspectives, insights, and best practices on mentorship across diverse academic settings.

CUR Fellows Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Research Leadership Nominations 2025 Deadline

The CUR Fellows Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Research Leadership annually recognizes a CUR member who is a leader and role model within the undergraduate research community and whose career represents the values and ideals represented in CUR’s Characteristics of Excellence in Undergraduate Research. Awardees receive $2500, a plaque to display their achievement, recognition at an awards celebration with the CUR community, and a slot to present at the ConnectUR conference to share their expertise and experience.

STR 2024-25 Session 4: Policy Brief Writing

The STR Program is a valuable resource for teaching your undergraduate research students communication tools for translating research into understandable language while also communicating the impact, potential impact, and opportunities this research can have. Participants will serve as CUR Advocacy Ambassadors and learn how to advocate for the impact of research with media contacts, community members, funding agencies, and governmental representatives.

Grant Dialogues 2025

Grant Dialogues provides an opportunity for the UR community to discuss the many available possibilities of funding and grants with grant experts, federal agency program officers and other grant funders.

Biology Student Travel Grants Spring 2025 Deadline

The CUR Biology Division is offering a limited number of travel grants, up to $250 each, for undergraduate students presenting original biological research results at discipline-specific regional or national meetings in Spring 2025. Award recipients must acknowledge CUR for supporting their travel in their talk or poster. Students from traditionally underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.

Biology Mentor Awards 2025 Deadline

The CUR Biology Division Mentor Awards honor biology mentors for their long-term efforts in supervising undergraduate research students. Individuals may be self-nominated or be nominated by CUR institutional or Institutional-Enhanced members, individual CUR members of the Biology Division, or the mentor’s research students. Faculty mentoring interdisciplinary projects are eligible as long as such projects involve a major biological component. Awards will be made in three categories: Early Career, Mid-Career, and Advanced Career.

Social Sciences Division Inspiring Creation Award 2025 Deadline

This award recognizes outstanding doctoral students, early first-year faculty, or lecturers of undergraduate research in the social sciences for their role in 1) supporting, 2) encouraging, 3) promoting a positive and inclusive scholarly and teaching environment for undergraduate students, and 4) contributing to their students’ professional and personal development inside and outside of the classroom.
