Social Sciences Undergraduate Conference Awards Deadline

The Social Sciences Division of CUR is offering a limited number of grants, up to $200 each, for undergraduate students presenting the results of research that they have conducted at a regional or national, discipline-specific meeting (in person or virtually) during the academic year 2023-2024. In addition, two awards will be set aside for students attending an international conference.

Geosciences Early Career Undergraduate Mentor Award Deadline

The Geoscience Division of the Council of Undergraduate Research (GeoCUR) recognizes the critical work of developing best practices in undergraduate research. This award highlights individuals who place undergraduate research at the center of professional activities. GeoCUR annually recognizes individuals who are initiating creative, impactful, and/or innovative undergraduate research activities. Awardees win a prize of $600.

Geosciences Faculty Mentor Award Deadline

The Geosciences Division of CUR annually recognizes an individual who serves as a role model for productive and transformative student-faculty mentoring relationships and for maintaining a sustained and innovative approach to the enterprise of undergraduate research. The awardee wins a prize of $600.
 
Evidence of transformative student-faculty mentoring relationships include: leadership in fostering and sustaining the undergraduate research enterprise, student-mentor collaborations culminating in presentations at national or regional meetings and/or publication with student co-authors in peer-reviewed journals, and innovative approaches to involving undergraduates in research experiences incorporating research activities into the classroom and service learning.

Campus-Wide Award for Undergraduate Research Accomplishments (AURA) LOI Deadline

CUR invites applications for the annual CUR Campus-Wide Award for Undergraduate Research Accomplishments (AURA). This award recognizes higher education institutions that have successfully implemented the characteristics of excellence, have devised exemplary programs to provide high-quality research experiences to undergraduates, and have evaluated the success of these programs.

Biology Student Travel Grants Fall 2024 Deadline

The Biology Division of CUR is offering a limited number of travel grants, up to $250 each, for undergraduate students presenting original biological research results at discipline-specific regional or national meetings, or a meeting focused on underrepresented populations such as SACNAS, ABRCMS, or AISES in Fall 2024.

This award will also reopen and be awarded in the Spring.

CUR-Goldwater Scholars Faculty Mentor Award 2024 Deadline

CUR has partnered with the Barry Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Foundation Program (Goldwater Program) to recognize faculty mentors who conduct their research in a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) discipline, as defined by the Goldwater Program, and who have mentored a minimum of three Goldwater Scholars during their career.

Arts and Humanities Faculty Mentor Award 2025 Deadline

The CUR Arts and Humanities Faculty Mentor Award recognizes exemplary faculty mentors of undergraduate researchers in the arts and humanities fields. Mentors are leaders and role models for those involved in undergraduate research, scholarship, and creative activities. The award was established by a gift from Joyce Kinkead, distinguished professor of English, Utah State University. Awardees receive $1000, a plaque to display the achievement, and recognition at an awards celebration with the CUR community.
