With limited institutional resources and competing demands on programs and individuals, there is an increasing need to establish internal and external partnerships in the development and expansion of campus undergraduate research, scholarship, and creative inquiry. Join this Connect UR Pre-Conference Workshop facilitated by CUR Members from a diverse group of institutions to discuss effective partnerships, learn about the partnerships they have developed and how these have evolved, share your successes and challenges, and leave with a plan to move forward.
The last day to cancel your workshop registration was May 20, 2024. After May 20, no refund will be given.
Agenda:
8:00 AM—9:00 AM, ET
- Introductions and sharing examples
- Defining partnership and the characteristics of effective partnerships
- Communicating program goals and framing partnerships between your office/program with partners
- Activity 1: a) Who are you currently partnering (Programs and Funding) with and how? b) How are you defining your program and telling your URSCI story?
9:00 AM—9:45 AM, ET
- Partnering wisely–Reflecting on reasons for partnerships, considering how each group benefits from the partnership and shared values
- Examples: Success, Epic failure, “Fixing”
- Activity 2: Who could you be partnering better with (Program and Funding) and what would be the first steps? Who are potential new partners (Program and Funding) and how can you build for success?
9:45 AM—10:00 AM, ET
- Activity 3: Action Plan
- Final Wrap-up and Discussion of Action Plans
