Adapting Access: Building Resilience in Inclusive Practices

April 1 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

As we navigate a shifting landscape where traditional terminology related to access and belonging faces new challenges, this 1-hour online discussion builds on the foundations set in last summer’s ConnectUR workshop, Beyond Buzzwords: Upholding UR Practices Through Action, Not Words.

In Adapting Access: Building Resilience in Inclusive Practices, we will take the conversation further, exploring new, practical strategies for maintaining inclusive practices under restrictive legislative conditions. Whether you are joining us for the first time or returning to deepen your understanding, this session offers fresh opportunities for collaboration and actionable insights.

Participants will reflect on a changing landscape since the last session (we will give a brief overview of the data from last summer’s workshop in the beginning), discuss current challenges, share innovative approaches, and brainstorm resilient solutions that transcend the need for traditional terminology. With a focus on adaptability and creativity, attendees will develop strategies that ensure their work remains impactful, regardless of external pressures.

Attendees will leave with actionable steps for the present and a clear vision for what’s to come, helping build inclusive and resilient educational environments for all.

Join us in continuing this important work, as we evolve and adapt our approaches to ensure that access and inclusivity remain at the heart of our campuses.
