All memberships run on the same membership year from July 1 through June 30. Customers may join at any time. For institutional and enhanced memberships, prices are pro-rated monthly. Individual memberships are not pro-rated. For specifics on pricing, please explore our Become a Member page.
Yes, membership in CUR is available to individuals and institutions with an interest in supporting and promoting high-quality mentored undergraduate research, scholarship and creative inquiry in all fields of academic study and in all types of institutions of higher learning. Individual members can include students, faculty, mentors, and staff at institutions of higher education. Institutional and Affiliate members can designate three individuals to receive full membership benefits. Enhanced members can designate an unlimited number of individuals to receive membership benefits.
Our renewal process starts in March of each year. Customers whose membership expires that upcoming June will receive renewal notices with a payment deadline of July 1. We understand that academic fiscal years often start in July, so we offer a thirty day grace period on all membership dues payments. After our grace period, all membership that have not been renewed, will no longer have access to their membership benefits.
Any individual who has been designated to receive membership benefits through an organization that has an enhanced or institutional membership is entitled to a full refund of individual membership dues provided that a written refund request is received within one month of the customer’s individual membership start date, and it is not past the 30 day grace period.
Memberships are not transferable. Refunds for membership dues are not permitted after 30 days from the start date of the membership. If a company pays an individual’s membership dues, and it is within 30-days of the individual’s member start date than the refund will be issued to the company.
Any customer that has been designated to receive membership benefits through an organization that has an enhanced or institutional membership is entitled to a full refund of individual membership dues provided that a written refund request is received within one month of the customer’s individual membership start date, and it is not past the 30 day grace period.

CUR encourages our members to advocate for undergraduate research and provides resources on how to do this under our advocacy pages.
