The National Science Foundation has a search page that includes the contact information for Research Experiences for Undergraduates summer research programs. You will need to contact the specific program for application information. Additionally, programs may submit their specific application information for publishing in the list below.

PathwaysToScience.org has a searchable database of 600+ summer research programs for undergraduates in all STEM disciplines. These are all fully funded opportunities including programs sponsored by NSF, NASA, NIH, etc.  They also have a selection of resources to help you strengthen your applications.

    FROST (Fostering Research Opportunities in Sustainable Technologies) ‐ University of Kansas

    Participants will gain hands-on experience through technical training, collaborative research projects, and field visits to explore innovative solutions for energy efficiency, environmental impact reduction, and sustainable engineering. The program fosters interdisciplinary collaboration, pairing students with faculty and industry mentors to address real-world challenges like retrofitting systems for eco-friendly refrigerants and optimizing HVACR performance.

    REU Computing for Health and Well-being – Summer 2025 ‐ University of Iowa

    The Computer Science Department at IOWA now accepting applications for a 10-week summer research program funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF). Our REU Computing for Health and Well-being site is motivated by the considerable strain on the U.S. healthcare system due to short-term challenges, such as those posed by the COVID-19 outbreak, and long-term trends, such as an aging U.S. population.

    Some highlights: $6K stipend; On-campus mentored research experience; Research Bootcamp.
